Blu refers to the color blue. Blue is the color of the sky (cloud) and the sea. The color is associated with depth, confidence, intelligence, stability, and loyalty. The link with the cloud also indicates our commitment to cloud technology. Blu is intentionally misspelled to get a more modern name and a nod to the Blu-Ray player. An important business partner of us from the Suriname diaspora played an important role as a technical project leader in the development of the software for the Blu-ray player.
Dots indicate more to come, that something has a sequel. Dots are often used in ICT, for example, with internet pages and programming languages. Dots also indicate an eye for detail, accuracy, and patience. E.g ‘On the dot’ , ‘dot for dot’ and ‘connecting the dots‘ are well-known expressions in English. The name Blu Dots also has a link to the history of our company. One of the predecessors was known for the blue blocks in the logo. And the other predecessor was known for the red dot in the logo. So combining this, we get Blu Dots.
